A short history

In 1620, a group of English settlers called the Pilgrims crossed the Atlantic on the Mayflower and settled in Plymouth, in today’s Massachusetts. Their first winter was terrible and many died. The Wampanoag people taught the survivors how to grow corn and fish. In autumn 1621, after a good harvest, the settlers and around 90 Wampanoag men shared a three-day feast.
